The mushrooms that Matt and I found. For the life of me, I couldn't see anything on the ground that didn't look like fallen leaves.
Getting out of bed at 7 am on a Sunday morning isn’t usually my thing, but for what I went to, it was totally worth it.
I went to a mushroom walk in Lincoln, hosted by Trish Adams of the Boston Mycological Club. I was supposed to be covering the walk for a ‘beat’ assignment for a class, and wound up just spending the morning with my classmate, Matt, walking in the woods with George Davis and soaking in the fun. Pictures!

George Davis, right, a local mushroom expert, explains a mushroom to some fellow mushroom hunters.
A group of mushroom hunters on a mushroom walk. Looks like they found something!
Everybody’s findings at the end of the walk!
We walked around this pond. It was a beautiful Sunday morning.
A mother and her daughter on the walk. Also, see what I mean about looking for mushrooms with the leaves all over the ground.
